i’m ashamed that my first thought was beyoncé (i’m not even a fan).
my next was of a lion, roaring.
and then, where i stayed, was thinking of fierce women. fellow feminists, i guess. women who stand tall in their womanhood, who defy odds, who challenge the limitations placed on them by men, by the patriarchy, by other women. women whose hearts burn with fire and passion.
women who, quietly or less so, say fuck you to all of those who stand in their way.
i used to be far more fierce, when i was younger, when i was greener. i think i’m more tired these days. which is regrettable, because the world needs more ferocity from women right now. more than ever, i think.
I like this quote.
